Updated Housing Community Standards Now Available

A revision to Fort Hood Regulation 210-48, Installation Housing Community Standards, has been approved and published.  The revision changes include: the RCI Privatization Pet Policy which bans additional breeds of dogs on Fort Hood; the added responsibility of the chain of command and village supporting units in misconduct based loss of eligibility for housing privileges; new size restrictions on trailers in the housing areas; and that Liberty Village is private rental property on Fort Hood that is owned and managed by Universal Services Fort Hood.  Other changes include additional guidelines for above ground swimming pools, and the provision of free lawn mowing services for deployed Soldiers.

The additional breeds of dogs that are now unauthorized are Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, and Chows.  Residents currently owning these breeds of dogs will be grandfathered and will not have to get rid of them.  Residents currently owning these breeds of dogs should already have them registered.  However, residents who moved in prior to residents being asked to sign a pet policy when requesting on post housing have until July 31, 2009 to register dogs that are now unauthorized.  Any unauthorized dogs that are unregistered will be removed from the installation beginning August 1, 2009.

The new regulation prohibits the parking of motor homes, recreational vehicles, boats, or trailers of any kind, exceeding 6 feet in length, to include boat/jet ski trailers.  This new restriction is now in effect for all residents.

Pools deeper than 18 inches must now be registered with the Community Manager and equipped with a cover.  This change is also now in effect.
